Formerly owned by the du Pont family, this 900 acre parcel of land became a state park in 1965. It is a mix of picturesque open meadows and wooded sections with a network of about 15 miles of trails throughout.

There are about 5 miles of smooth, well maintained trails which can easily be combined with the Middle Run and White Clay Creek trails to make for a nice extended ride.
Read MoreLums Pond State Park, located 20 minutes south of Newark, Delaware, features a 200 acre freshwater pond that is popular for fishing and boating. A 7 mile hiking trail along the perimeter of the pond affords picturesque views of the water. In addition to the hiking trail, there is a 10 mile multi-use trail, but note that this trail can be quite boggy in places and at times is impassable by bicycle. Lums Pond also has a campground next to the lake, and several picnic areas located throughout the park.
