Walnut Creek Park

Just a 15 minute drive from Charlottesville, Walnut Creek is a popular destination for family outings.  The park features a 45 acre lake, swimming beach, canoe rental, numerous shelters, disc golf and 13 miles of hand cut singletrack for mountain biking, making this quite the destination in central Virginia. 

The trail network is packed with technical challenges including rocks, roots and some long steep uphill sections.  For beginners, The Blue Wheel trail, which is located below the earthen dam on the southern end of the park provides a nice little loop that has some challenges to help build your skills.  For the intermediate level riders, the rest of of the park will be like Disney Land with all kinds of features to challenge you to improve your legs, lungs and skills.
