Adirondack Park - Blueberry Pond

Adirondack Park - Blueberry Pond

A peaceful and secluded walk in the woods, this trail passes by the small Blueberry Pond, a picturesque fishing pond located just south of the popular Ampersand Mountain.

A primitive camping area is located at the end of this trail, which is used by hikers on their way to four of the more remote 46'er peaks in the Adirondacks - Seward, Donaldson, Emmons, and Seymour. The 46'ers are so named because they are the 46 highest mountains in the Adirondacks also known as the 'High Peaks'. (Note that there is one additional peak that was later determined to be taller than 4 of the original peaks on the list.) The ADK 46-R club (http://www.adk46er.org/peaks.html) is an organization whose members have made it to the top of all of these mountains - I really like these membership requirements!
