Heritage Rail Trail County Park
The Heritage Rail Trail County Park begins in York, Pennsylvania and extends 21 miles down to the Maryland State line where the trail continues on for another 20 miles as the Torrey C Brown Rail Trail. This trail is an excellent place to take the family - the riding is quite easy as the trail is a smooth, level crushed limestone and has benches and picnic tables along the route.
As you ride the trail, be sure to stop at the Hanover Junction and New Freedom Train Stations. Both of these stations are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and have small museums inside. The New Freedom Train Station also features a couple of antique rail cars that can be explored.
