White Clay Creek State Park

Located in New Castle County, Delaware, just north of Newark, White Clay Creek is a popular destination for many outdoor activities. The park features an amphitheater which hosts concerts during the summer months. It has a large picnic area, playground for the kids, a disc golf course, a nature center, fitness trails, and a youth group camping area. The park has over 30 miles of trails for hiking, biking and equestrian users. The trails range from paved paths to wide double track trails to smooth single track.

A wonderful state park located in the Virginia Highlands close to the border of Kentucky, it's well worth a visit to see the excellent living history museum located on the premises. Martin's Station is a reconstructed fort that depicts frontier life during 1775. Several knowledgeable interpreters are on hand, including a blacksmith and gunsmith.

Located in the picturesque Brandywine Valley, the Woodlawn Trustees Property is a 2000 acre tract of privately owned land that is open for use to the public. These multi-use trails will take you through miles of farmland, meadows and woodlands. Several connector trails lead into Brandywine Creek State Park which contains another 15 miles of trails.

York River State Park

York River State Park is known for its unique coastal estuary. Here, freshwater and saltwater combine, creating a habitat rich in animal and plant life. The visitor center has informative displays explaining the coastal estuary environment. It also has ongoing educational programs and activities, such as kayak trips on the York River and nature hikes. Amenities at the park include an amphitheater, canoe and kayak rentals, a fishing pier, and picnic areas.
